The 4th Annual Pharmacy 50 Awards

On January 16, 2026, the pharmacy world came together to celebrate leadership, innovation, and real influence at the 4th Annual Pharmacy 50 Awards, hosted by the Pharmacy Podcast Network. More than just a list of names, this award program recognizes the people shaping pharmacy’s present and future, from patient care and technology to policy and community impact. What makes the Pharmacy 50 special is that the winners are chosen by peers across the profession, not by a small editorial board or commercial interests. That peer-driven process ensures the voices honored truly reflect the community’s values and priorities.

In a time of rapid change… with shifts in reimbursement, workforce pressures, digital health, and new care models… pharmacy needs leaders who are not just visible but trusted. That trust comes from telling the truth, even when it’s hard, and from focusing on what patients and frontline professionals really need. The Pharmacy 50 Awards highlight people like that: individuals working every day to improve care, educate their peers, and push the profession forward.

Among this year’s honorees are a group of standout social media influencers who use online platforms to inform, challenge, and empower. These voices matter because they bring truth to light in a crowded information landscape. Grant Harting, PharmD was recognized for his influence in the pharmacy social space, where he breaks down clinical insights into clear, actionable guidance for patients and professionals alike. Shane Jerominski, PharmD continues to build community by discussing real practice challenges that don’t always make it into traditional industry media. Ethan Melillo, PharmD and Maurice Shaw, PharmD also made the list, using social platforms to share frontline perspectives on pharmacy practice. Katarina (Kati) Forbes, PharmD and Sue Ojageer, PharmD round out this group of leaders who amplify truth and clarity through digital connection. Most recently, Walter Oronsaye, PharmD and Laura Dowling, BPharm were honored for the unique ways they bring pharmacy topics to wider audiences online.

These social media influencers are critical because they expand the conversation beyond conference halls and corporate press releases. They reach students, independent pharmacists, technicians, and community leaders with ideas that matter. They hold up a mirror to the profession and ask the tough questions that help pharmacy evolve. In doing so, they create a level of transparency and accountability that traditional media sometimes misses.

At its core, the Pharmacy 50 Awards remind us that influence is not measured by titles or budgets, but by impact. It’s about shifting the way pharmacy thinks, acts, and cares for patients. It’s about making space for truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. And it’s about recognizing those who lead by example… whether they practice in a hospital, run a digital health company, or start a conversation on social media that makes the entire profession think.

As the profession continues to evolve, the winners of the Pharmacy 50 Awards show us a future built on openness, innovation, and real leadership. And they remind every pharmacist and pharmacy professional that influence isn’t just about being heard, it’s about making a difference.
